Saturday:
Warm Up:
Frank still isn’t happy with the set up so some more adjustment’s were made
in preparation for the Co Drivers qualifying. Bang Bang asked Frank if he could
take out #40 to see what he thought, so during the warm up Frank got out of
#96 & in to #40 while Falky finished off the warm up in #96.
John Falk Qualified 2nd.
The rest of the Day was adjusting & fine tuning.
CoDr Race 1.
John started in 2nd position & on the 2nd corner found himself out on the
marbles & off the track, he re-joined in 7th position. After fighting his way
back up to the front, on the back straight before the sesses he managed to
get on the inside of Bagamia's truck to take position 1 just before the c
hequered flag dropped. Well done Falky, great race.
Sunday:
Sunday morning Frank had Chriss changing turbo’s on #96.
Warm up was ok.
Race 1
Frank started in 7th position & by the 1st corner was in 4th before hitting some oil on the track & spinning himself around. Robby was following the group & didn’t see Frank until it was too late & just clipped the front of Frank’s truck, Stan Seaton wasn’t so lucky. He didn’t see Frank facing the wrong way until he hit him full on, knocking out not only Stand’s windscreen but also Stan himself. Frank pulled along side & was yelling out to Stan who eventually came through & said he was ok.
Then headed in to the pit's so see what damage was done to #96
Race 2:
A pretty uneventful race, nothing but a steam train effect. BORING!!
Race 3
Frank & Coulter had a great battle & frank held out to cross the line in
front of him. Steven Zammit came on to the back sweeper & destroyed
his gear box & rolled to a stop.
With all the help that Bang Bang & Steve have given us over the year’s
& with Steve being up in the point’s, Robbie & Frank offered Steve our #69
truck to contest the Superprix. Now at least he’ll still be able to accumulate some point’s & still be in with a chance to take out the 2007 Championship with only 1 round to go.
CoDr Race 2:
John had a great start & by the end of the 1st lap was in front. John was almost 1/4 of a track in front when the front r/h brake drum exploded & he managed to crawl around long enough to finish the race & collect enough points to win the round.
Once back in the pit’s Frank had the truck up & was figuring out how to put the front brake assembly back together enough to make the Superprix. Unfortunately the track scruitners had different ideas & grounded the truck. So on went the wheel & on to the transporter went #96.
Superprix;
Well isn’t Steve in for a big shock. #69 the only Manual Race truck on
the track. Steve started the race from back of field, all 135kg of Steve
battled not only the other competitors, but also the gearbox, breaks,
over steer & under steer that #69 has to offer. He did manage to
finish the race weighing only 120kg. Almost make’s it all worth while!!
Summary:
Well it was looking good at the start of the weekend but slowly went down hill. We all still had a good weekend despite all the up’s & down’s but as we always say, “That’s Racing”!!
HI FRANK AND ALL THE TEAM ( P/S I`M NOT GOING TO NAME YOU ALL BECAUSE IF I GET IT WRONG I MIGHT GET A PIPE UP MY A$$ :-)
THANKS FOR THE WEEKEND HAD A BALL RACING WITH YOU. IT JUST GETS BETTER FOR US AND ITS BECAUSE WE HAVE GOOD FAIR DINKUM MATES, ONES WE CAN HAVE A GOOD OLD LAUGH WITH.
JUST IN CASE YOU DIDN`T WORK IT OUT AT THE START OF THE ROUND WE WERE IN
SECOND PLACE ONLY 6 POINTS IN FRONT OF BOMBER NOW WE ARE 6 POINTS BEHIND HIM
AND IF IT WASN`T FOR YOU AND ROBBY GIVING UP THE REO WE WOULD HAVE BEEN 15 POINT BEHIND SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THAT, DRIVING THE REO WAS STEVEN'S CALL, I LEFT IT UP TO HIM TO DECIDE, BUT I MUST TELL YOU, I WAS FLOORED WHEN ROBBY JUST CAME STRAIGHT OUT AND SAID, "STEVE JUMP IN THE REO SO YOU CAN GET SOME POINT'S"
MATE ITS A WONDER I DIDN`T SWALLOW 100 FLY'S, MY MOUTH WAS OPEN FOR THAT LONG.
