Friday:
Frank arrived at the track all by himself, work commitment's kept the rest of the team in Melbourne on the Friday but we would be making the trip west to Adelaide on Friday night in the coach to arrive Saturday morning. With help from Falky, Bombers team & also Steve Zammit & Bang Bang, Frank managed to un load the Supertruck & get through the day with no major dramas, so he thought.
Saturday:
Frank & John kept persisting with a slipping auto all day, it was slowly getting worse but we had no choice but to soldier on..
Co-Drivers Race 1 John managed to finish the race in 2nd position.
Sunday:
Race 1: Starting in 9th position, Frank managed to work his way up to 7th position by lap 2, then just to add fuel to our already bad day he broke the front left hand break drum in the 3rd lap, persisting on he managed to keep Steve Zammit at bay untill the last lap when Frank ran out of breaks at the end of the back straight & landed in the sand pit, he managed to get himself out to eventually finish in 8th position.
Race 2: Starting in 7th position, by the 3rd turn Frank was in the lead but with a slipping auto 1 by 1 he was being passed down the back straight. 2 of the SBR's had a cumming together & the race was Red Flagged, seeing as there wasnt 75% of the race completed, the race was called Null & Void.
Race 3: A mirror of race 2, Frank got a great start & 1 by 1 was overtaken along the back straight eventually finishing 6th.
Super Prix: Frank decided not to enter the superprix hoping the auto was still good enough to get the Supertruck on to the Transporter.
When it rain's it pours.
Thank's to all our Sponsors & Supporters & look forward to Perth in 2 months.
Frank & Marie
